Coinstar Enters France Through Acquisition of Eurocycleur
Coinstar, LLC, today announced its acquisition of Eurocycleur, a leading self-service coin counting vendor with 625 kiosks in major retailers across France. Eurocycleur will continue to operate as a stand-alone business under Coinstar International and will retain the Eurocycleur brand name.
“We’re excited about this acquisition on multiple levels,” said Jim Gaherity, CEO of Coinstar, LLC. “First, Eurocycleur is a successful business operating with well-known and respected French retailers. Additionally, with the acquisition of Eurocycleur, Coinstar now has multiple coin-counting solutions for retailers and consumers in France.”
The Eurocycleur coin-counting kiosks can be found in major retailers including Carrefour, E.Leclerc, Auchan, Cora, Système U and Intermarché.
The transaction, which closed in November, includes the acquisition of all assets including equipment, technology, branding and personnel.
Eurocycleur was founded in 2005 by Laurent Salet, who will continue to run the business as head of business development in France.
