Coinstar Names Thien Truong Chief Revenue Officer
Coinstar, a leader in self-service coin counting, today announced the appointment of Thien Truong as chief revenue officer starting immediately. In this position, Truong will focus on driving company growth through new product innovation, product management, marketing strategies and business development.

Truong comes to Coinstar with nearly 25 years’ experience holding senior management roles with world-class financial services and consumer packaged goods companies. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of sales and business development at Green Dot Corp. In this role, Truong drove new business, developed new distribution channels and secured partnerships that significantly contributed to the company’s annual revenue goals. Prior to this position, he held a variety of leadership roles at American Express. His accomplishments included launching and managing the largest retail prepaid card distribution in the world, introducing the first international American Express-branded prepaid card and securing relationships with top mass merchant and drug store retailers. Earlier in his career, Truong held various leadership roles at PepsiCo, Nestle and Proctor & Gamble.

Truong joins the Coinstar executive management team in this newly-created position further strengthening the leadership. Other members of the management team include Jim Gaherity, chief executive officer; Jason Friedlander, chief technology officer; Kevin McColly, chief financial officer; Jeff Patterson, chief operating officer; Theresa Shaw, general counsel; and Karen Batzle, senior vice president of human resources.
Truong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
