Coinstar selects Volex PLC as its Contract Manufacturing Partner

Volex PLC and its wholly-owned subsidiary Servatron Inc. have been selected as the strategic contract manufacturing partner for Coinstar, LLC . Coinstar, headquartered in Bellevue, WA, is a global company with innovative solutions for the retail and financial institution markets specializing in coin-counting kiosks.

David Helwig, Manufacturing and Procurement Director for Coinstar, stated, “We conducted an extensive search, evaluating a number of contract manufacturing candidates with regard to their capability, quality performance, customer orientation, and cost. We have selected Volex and Servatron due to their outstanding quality and operational expertise in the complete manufacturing of complex electromechanical assemblies. In addition, Volex’s global footprint will allow Coinstar to provide procurement and manufacturing services closer to our end customers’ locations.”

Volex will handle all aspects of the manufacturing of large scale kiosks for Coinstar in all worldwide regions, including North America, Europe and Asia. Volex will manage the full-scale box build and supply chain for Coinstar: from sheet metal sourcing, raw material purchasing, PCBA and cable manufacturing to integration and test.
